Be careful when you park. 4 cars broken into. Broad day light. Do not leave anything visible. Other than that, great place to take photos.
This place is so amazing especially for photo opportunities as well as just enjoying the beautiful weather. The trick is to not park at the actual welcome center but go down the hill a little bit and then take the trail down to the pier. Or drive all the way down the hill to get to the pier overall great place to go for just hanging out and the gift shop isn't enormous but decently sized and has a variety of relics.
A great facility with many souvenir options - one of the best I’ve visited anywhere in the world.
The space is large and the shelf stock well-kept, though I did visit first thing in the morning on a rainy day when patronage was low. You can find everything from the usual keychains, stickers and books, but also bespoke and handcrafted items by local artists.
Even if you don’t intend on purchasing anything, there is the original scale model - about 5m tall - of one of the bridge pylons on display which was used by engineers to help build the full-sized Golden Gate Bridge.
Turn out at exit 349 to avoid driving through the gate where toll is being charged. Make sure you have the fastrak if you going to pay for the toll, no cash. The picture taking point is very cold due to strong wind in December. There is a cafe there if you like to eat and drink. Public toilet is available too.
